Another man I learnt a lot from was Peter Francis.
He had a terrific head on him. He built bridges, and he got onto these concrete tanks.
He had a great engineering ability.
He did smoke a bit, and had some bad lung trouble, I think he only had one lung left at the finish.
He also started me off on the trees. He was the one that got that Coleraine Points Arboretum going. In his younger days , he worked on the saw mills, most of it cutting down trees, the glorious big red gum trees for railway sleepers and such.
He destroyed thousands of trees in his younger days, then later he replaced thousands and thousands of trees. He had great ideas and good vision, and was greatly respected by people around the district because of his attributes.
