Michael Kane married Elizabeth Jess at St. Mary's Geelong in 1863. They were from County Limerick Ireland.
Their children were Thomas - never married, Michael - apparently enlisted in World War 1 and is mentioned in a memorial at Ballarat but the family never made contact with him after the War, Stephan, James - was Deputy Commissioner of Police during the Police Strike of 1923, Sarah, Anne, William - went to Gallipoli with John Kane of Coleraine, and Daniel- father of Therese Glenn of Warracknabeal with whom I made contact in 2004. At that time she was aged 71. She was born at Minyip in 1933 and is the youngest daughter of Daniel Kane. Theresa's sisters and brothers were; Bart who managed the farm, father of Jon - never married, presently in his mid 50's and who now lives in Horsham, Francis and Thomas deceased - who were policemen. Margaret and Sheila who were twins.
William used to stay with the family on the farm but he lived in Melbourne and worked there.
Four generations of Kanes farmed the land at Nullan. Finally, due to ill health of family members the farm was reluctantly sold in 1997.
Back in the 1940's Nullan had a school, Railway Station, Station Master's house, Wheatstacks and the Kane farm.
