Hi everyone,

Had a fantastic couple of days on Kate's farm in Iowa.  It was about 360 miles South of here and took 6 hours.  We spent the first night with Kate's sister and husband in Sioux Falls.  It was great seeing Kate's mum again after 6 years - she is much weaker but is still lots of fun.  She cooked the roast on Sunday.  The weather was great.  Also caught up with Kate's brother Mike, sisters MaryAnne and Pat as well as the extended family.  Kate's farm is near to the small locality of Magnolia and the next nearest town is Logan. 

A little about Iowa.  It takes pride in education with results some of the best in the U.S.  Iowa tops the nation in food production.  It is first in corn and soya beans.  The population of Iowa is  about 3 million.  Famous former residents of Iowa are Herbert Hoover, John Wayne, Glen Miller, Donna Reed and Buffalo Bill Cody.
