Hi everyone,
No wind today but another hot one. Check out
the web site of the school below. The site is constructed by Shelley
who works in the middle school.

We received our teaching schedules yesterday.
I'm teaching Algebra 1 and Geometry to mostly grade 10's and 11's.
That sound fine especially since I teach the same stuff to a number of
classes. We all have our own classrooms and the students come to us.
I've got heaps of posters up from the Museum in Perth - mammals,
butterflies, wildflowers, fish, birds, snakes, sea stingers etc of
Australia and maps. Should be a good talking point with the
students. The classroom is extremely modern. I'm wrapt to find
I have a new Dell computer, printer, scanner and telephone. If I
press 1 on the telephone I can listen to - wait for it - "country
music". That's my sort of music. There is no music
teacher here this year so Joe has asked me if I would be interested in
taking some evening classes. I said "what kind of music do they
like"? His reply was "rap". Well that's not my
cup of tea but I'm sure I've got something to offer in teaching guitar and
keyboards etc. so will take him up on the offer.
There are herds of buffalo close to our school and
one can only wonder what it was like 200 years ago.
It is quite interesting driving on the right.
When you get to an intersection it seems that the first one there has the
right of way.
Fantastic watermelon, rockmelons and tomatoes here at
the moment and very cheap.
Trying to only put a smear of vegemite on my toast to
make it last.
Good central heating/cooling in our trailer unit and
throughout the school. I think we are to pay $200 a month for rent
plus utilities which is also $200 I think.
The school supplies the lunch meal for all staff and
students. That's the main meal and the cost is a meagre $2.
We've got a meeting at 10 o'clock for more input.
Friday we finish at lunchtime. There is a Labor day holiday on
Monday and we bounce the ball with the students on Tuesday. Should
be interesting!!
Until next time,
Regards,
BK and Kate.
