Mum's shepherd's pie

 

Mum makes a great shepherd's pie.  We never get sick of it!

  • Put lean mince, half an onion and water into a saucepan

  • Boil gently for one and half hours - then pour off fat

  • Add grated carrot and cut up celery

  • Add a spoon of soya sauce and 2 spoons of tomato sauce

  • Pepper - mix thoroughly

  • At the end, add one third cup of milk, 2 spoons of plain flour and corn flour to thicken

  • Boil some potatoes and spread over the top

  • Smear the top with butter

  • Fork the whole top with horizontal lines

  • Put under the griller and lightly brown the coating.
